Julie Poulsen to Receive Order of Pegasus

ORLANDO (UCFKnights.com) – Conference champion. All-American. This week, Julie Poulsen added another accolade to her illustrious resume – Order of Pegasus. She was among the 23 UCF students this week named to the Order of Pegasus, the most prestigious honor presented to students at the University.

Poulsen extends UCF's streak to six consecutive years with at least one student-athlete among the recipients.
 
Undergraduate students are selected based on academic achievement, university involvement, leadership and community service. Graduate students additionally are chosen based on publication or research experiences.

This year's recipients will be honored at a ceremony on March 26.

The names and pictures of the recipients will be added to the wall showcasing past and present Order of Pegasus recipients in the Pegasus Lounge on the second floor of the Student Union.
 
A native of Odder, Denmark, Poulsen joined the UCF rowing team in January 2017 and has rowed in UCF's Varsity Eight each season. She is a three-time conference champion, a three-time first team all-conference selection and was a member of The American Boat of the Year in 2017.
 
Poulsen, who is fluent in Danish, German and English, has represented Denmark at the U23 World Rowing Championships, earning a pair of top five finishes in the Four and the Eight in 2017. She was the stroke of the Four that finished seventh overall at the 2018 U-23 World Rowing Championships in Poland.
 
Off the water, Poulsen has also excelled. She has earned President's Honor Roll for a 4.0 grade-point average in fall 2017 and 2019, and has made the Dean's List in four semesters.

She graduated with a degree in human communication and a minor in mass communication in December. She has a 3.91 cumulative GPA is currently a second degree seeking student majoring in sociology.

This year's inductees include 15 Burnett Honors College students, six LEAD Scholars, six Student Government leaders, three President's Leadership Council members, one Greek member, one student-athlete and three transfer students.
