Decamps Earns Fourth AAC Player of the Week Honor

ORLANDO, Fla. – After another incredible week that saw him go 4-0 in singles, Gabriel Decamps has been named as the American Athletic Conference's Player of the Week for the fourth time this season.

Decamps has been named as The American's top player for the past two weeks and rightfully so as he is on a 12-match winning streak. The nation's No. 4 singles player only strengthened his resume this weekend, going 4-0 at the top spot in the lineup and earning a pair of ranked victories, triumphing over Nos. 44 and 110. Decamps has impressed all season and sits with a singles record of 14-1.

Not only did Decamps win this weekend, but he was able to win in big spots. He clinched both matches in the state of Oklahoma, earning the 4-0 clincher against No. 24 Oklahoma on Saturday. Sunday saw Decamps clinch a tight 4-2 contest that nearly had him as the last man standing.

Doubles saw Decamps go 2-2 this week, earning wins on Friday at No. 48 SMU and on Saturday at No. 24 Oklahoma. The Knights won the doubles point on both occasions, with Decamps and Trey Hilderbrand beating the nation's No. 63 pair on Friday.

With his fourth nod of the season, Decamps beats his own record for most Player of the Week honors won in a season. He and Juan Pablo Grassi Mazzuchi had each collected three in the shortened 2020 season.
