Oettl, Rosa Repeat With AAC Weekly Honors

ORLANDO, Fla. – Two Knights were named to the American Athletic Conference's weekly award list after another stellar performance from the UCF men's soccer team in their 1-0 double overtime victory over South Florida. Yannik Oettl earns his third straight Goalkeeper of the Week honor and fourth of the season while Anderson Rosa was tabbed as the Rookie of the Week.

Oettl has been nothing short of a brick wall these past few weeks. He turned aside five shots against South Florida and earned his fourth clean sheet of the season and third in a row. Oettl has saved a total of 18 shots over the past three weeks. After this week, he stands alone in third place on UCF's career shutouts list with 16. Oettl climbed a spot in another category, leaping past Sean Johnson into sixth place on the Knights' career saves list. Oettl has stopped 28 of 31 shots that have come his way, good enough for a .903 save percentage.

Rosa has been named the Defensive Player of the Week twice this season, but this is the first occasion of him winning the Rookie of the Week award. He was honored last week for his goal off a free kick from roughly 25 yards away, making this somewhat a repeat of a performance as a Player of the Week. This week, Rosa earned an assist on the game winning goal in double overtime, lofting a dangerous ball into the box from a bit farther away than the week prior, to the awaiting Yoni Sorokin who scored the game winner.
