Men's Golf Starts Strong at John Hayt Collegiate

PONTE VEDRA BEACH, Fla. – The UCF men's golf team is off to a hot start at the John Hayt Collegiate in Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida as the Knights wrap up day one tied for fourth place with a 580(+4) score through two rounds of play.
 
The Knights are currently tied with No. 15 Liberty and are leading some of the best teams in the country, including No. 3 Wake Forest and No. 23 South Florida. UCF trails only No. 1 Florida State, No. 14 Clemson and host team North Florida.
 
Johnny Travale blazed the way on day one for UCF as the second-year Knight shot two under in round one and finished the day with an even 144 total. Right behind him, freshman Egor Eroshenko posted an even first round and a 74(+2) in the second half of the day to finish with a 146(+2) total.
 
Max O'Hagan also shot under par in round one for the Knights, shooting 71(-1) before posting a 76(+4) in round two to finish the day at 147(+3). Meanwhile, after a slow start, junior Clement Charmmason turned it around in the second round, shooting two under to bring his two-round total to 148(+4). Rounding things out, Teddy Tetak shot 149(+5) through the first two rounds.
 
Shooting individually, Guillermo Estivill shot 159(+15).
