Men's Hoops Set for Road Tilt at Tulsa

MEMPHIS – The UCF men's basketball team will concludes its four-game road trip this weekend, taking on Tulsa Saturday at 6 p.m. ET with coverage on ESPN2 and FM 96.9 The Game.
 
The Knights (4-9, 2-8) have lost three in a row, which includes at Wichita State and two at Memphis during the current road trip. UCF looks for its first win since defeating ECU at home back on Jan. 27.

The Golden Hurricane (9-7, 6-5) welcomes UCF to town having lost three of its last four games, including a home defeat at the hands of SMU on Wednesday.
 
UCF looks for its first win against the Hurricane in Tulsa, having lost each of the last 11 times at the Reynolds Center.

Mistakes in Memphis                                      

  • The Knights lost a pair of game in Memphis earlier this week, their seventh and eighth defeats in the last nine games. The Tigers won 96-69 on Monday and then 75-61 on Wednesday.
  • The Tigers set an American Athletic Conference record in the win on Monday, the first time UCF had allowed its opponent to record 20 steals since Jan. 11, 1993 against Centenary.
  • The Knights turned the ball over 28 times and turned it over another 21 times on Wednesday.
  • Memphis shot 56.3 percent from the field and 48.1 percent from 3-point range in the first win and then 50.9 percent from the field in the second.
  • Landers Nolley II led the Tigers with 20 points on Monday and then 18 on Wednesday.
  • Brandon Mahan had a team-high 15 for the Knights in the first loss, while Darius Perry had 18 in the second defeat.

Touhg With Turnovers                                                   

  • When UCF started the season 3-1, the team had recorded two games with single digit turnovers and earned wins over Auburn, Florida State and Cincinnati.
  • In the Knights' last three games, they have turned the ball over 23 times, 28 times and 21 times, resulting in a three-game losing streak.
  • UCF has had more turnovers than its opponent in eight out of 13 games, resulting in a 1-7 record during such games.
  • When the Knights handle the ball, and subsequently turn it over less than their opponent, they hold a record of 3-2.

Holding The Lead                                

  • UCF had yet to lose a game that it was leading with 10 minutes remaining in the contest, before giving up a lead in the loss to Wichita State on Jan. 30.
  • In all four of the Knights' wins, they have been leading with 10 minutes to play, five minutes to play, and two minutes to play.
  • Conversely, UCF has not been able to come back when trailing at the 10-minute mark in the second half, losing all eight such games.
