ORLANDO, Fla. – The No. 18 UCF women's tennis team is set for their Texas road trip as they'll visit TCU on Thursday and No. 2 Texas on Saturday.
The Black and Gold have won six straight matches, their last win over Miami, a team that was receiving votes in the rankings at the time. No. 42 Rebeka Stolmar, No. 67 Valeriya Zeleva, No. 95 Evgeniya Levashova and Ksenia Kuznetsova have all won four consecutive singles matches while No. 60 Kuznetsova and Zeleva are a perfect 6-0 on the season in doubles. UCF has won seven of eight doubles segments this season, putting themselves in a great spot to start each match.
The Knights will play the Horned Frogs on Thursday afternoon, marking the third time in the last four seasons the two have faced off. UCF got the better of TCU last time around, beating them 4-1 during the shortened 2021 season. The Horned Frogs are 5-2 to start the season, their most recent victory being a 6-1 decision over Samford. TCU has a trio of ranked singles players, with Tate Schroeder at No. 46, Marie Norris at No. 68 and Alisa Soloveva at No. 75.
UCF will travel to Austin to face No. 2 Texas on Saturday. The two teams were supposed to meet last year for the first time in each program's history, but saw the match canceled because of the shutdown of the 2020 season. The Knights have never faced a top-five team under Bryan Koniecko.
The Longhorns have a quartet of ranked singles players. No. 5 Anna Turati leads the way for Texas, followed by No. 66 Peyton Stearns, No. 94 Lulu Sun and No. 125 Charlotte Chavatipon. In doubles, the lone ranked Texas tandem is No. 48 Turati and Fernanda Labrana.
