Volleyball Adds Road Match with Florida State

ORLANDO – The red-hot, 8-0 UCF volleyball team is adding a game to its 2021 schedule as the Knights will travel to Tallahassee, Fla. for a 12:00 pm showdown with Florida State on Friday, Feb. 26.

The addition comes following the cancellation of the UCF-Miami series. The Knights were scheduled to play a home and home with the Hurricanes on Feb. 26 and 28, but the matches were called off on Feb. 16.

"With the cancellation of Miami, it was very important for us to try to schedule another high-level opponent to bolster our schedule," said head coach Todd Dagenais. "Florida State, head coach Chris Poole and their administration went out of their way to make room for us to be able to play, even while other events are going on and while Florida State is hosting a mini-tournament. We are very grateful they worked so hard to find a way to staff this match for us."

The Knights last squared off against the Seminoles in the first round of the NCAA Tournament in 2019. UCF came out on top, 3-2 to advance to the second round. With high expectations for both program's again this season, Friday's matchup could very well serve as a preview of what's to come later this spring.
