ORLANDO, Fla. – Ready to kickoff the 2020-21 spring slate, the UCF women's soccer team will take on Temple on the road on Sunday at 12:30 p.m. at the Temple Sports Complex in Philadelphia, Pa.

No strangers on the pitch, the Knights own a 9-0-1 record over the Owls, though the last time the two teams met on Oct. 17, 2019 they concluded the contest in a scoreless tie.

UCF returns to action after Kristen Scott and Ellie Moreno were named to the American Athletic Conference Preseason All-Conference Team. A season ago, Scott appeared in all 19 regular-season contests in 2019 and led the Knights in goals scored (8) and points (17). Following an AAC All-Rookie campaign, Ellie Moreno was also included in the AAC Preseason All-Conference Team.

UCF went 11-4-4 and advanced to the semifinal round of the American Athletic Conference Championship tournament in 2019, finishing 5-2-2 in conference play. The Knights return nine members of its squad who clocked time in at least 10 matches in 2019, while welcoming 11 newcomers to the roster. In addition to the seven rookies that call the Sunshine State home, UCF also added experience in Trescott Shamlou, a transfer from Notre Dame.

Temple concluded the 2019 campaign with a 5-9-5 overall record, and 2-5-2 in The American. Despite a coaching change in the off-season, the Owls welcome back their top scorers from 2019, Hailey Gutowski and Gabriela Johnson with seven and three goals, respectively. Marissa DiGenova, Arryana Daniels, and Djavon Dupree are also slated to return after accumulating a combined 5529 minutes between the three defenders.
