Knights Finish Day One at Gator Invitational

GAINESVILLE, Fla. – The Knights wrapped up the first round and a half of play at the Gator Invitational on Friday, with UCF finishing the day in 21st spot with a 291(+14) total.

The original plan was to only play 18 holes per day for a total of 54 holes over the course of the three-day tournament, but the coaches got together early on Friday morning and decided to play a round and a half of golf (27 holes).

All teams will attempt to finish the final round and a half on Saturday due to inclement weather coming through Gainesville later in the weekend.

No. 3 Georgia is in the lead following the first day of play, followed by Liberty, No. 8 Auburn, No. 16 LSU, No. 9 Alabama and No. 15 Florida.

Johnny Travale, along with UCF newcomers Max O'Hagan and Egor Eroshenko, each posted a 72(+2) first round. Meanwhile, Clement Charmasson posted a 75(+5) total and Juan Delgado turned in a 78(+8) score.

In the first half of round two, both Travale and Delgado settled in, providing under par scores at -1 and -2, respectively. O'Hagan and Eroshenko are both shooting +3 and Charmasson currently sits at four over par in round two.

The Knights will be back at it Saturday at 8:00 a.m. to finish off round two of the Gator Invitational before immediately heading into round three. Fans can follow along live on Golfstat.com.
