Amari Williams Joins the Knights

ORLANDO – UCF Volleyball head coach Todd Dagenais announced the addition of Amari Williams to the Knights' roster on Monday.

Williams, who is a middle blocker by trade, comes to UCF from Florida State as a senior.

"We are looking forward to bringing Amari on board because of that experience of playing at a high level," said Dagenais. "Amari will bring a lot to our locker room in terms of maturity, experience, desire to win and more."

In three seasons with the Seminoles, Williams has totaled 153 block assists, 12 solo blocks and 141 kills. In 2019, Williams finished third on the team with 1.03 blocks per set, including three blocks in a straight-set victory over No. 3 Minnesota on August 31 and a career-high eight blocks versus Stony Brook on September 13.

Williams will join current UCF middle blockers Nerissa Moravec, Kathryn Wesolich, Megan Lively and Brittiney Jones at the position. In 2019, the Knights were second in the nation in total blocks (354.5), sixth in blocks per set (2.94) and were the only program to have three players ranked in the top 30 in blocks per set (Nerissa Moravec, Anne-Marie Watson and Lache Harper).

"We are happy to have Amari as a part of our program and to be able to bring some experience into that middle position is big for us to continue to be competitive on the national stage," said Dagenais.
