ORLANDO – Following a home win over ECU on Wednesday, the UCF men's basketball team returns to the road for the first of four straight games away from Orlando on Saturday. The Knights take on Wichita State at 4 p.m. ET at Charles Koch Arena with coverage on ESPNU and FM 96.9 The Game.
UCF (4-6, 2-5) snapped its five-game losing streak with the 71-64 victory over the Pirates earlier this week. The Knights were led by Darin Green Jr., who scored 18 points on four made 3-pointers and grabbed a career-high six rebounds in the win.
Wichita State (8-4, 4-2), meanwhile, is coming off of its second loss in league play, a 72-52 defeat at Memphis back on Jan. 21. The Shockers have conference victories over South Florida, Cincinnati and Tulsa twice, while they're other AAC loss was to Houston.
The Knights have yet to defeat Wichita State in the five all-time games between the two teams since the Shockers joined The American. Last season, Wichita State won 87-79 at Charles Koch Arena and then 75-58 in Orlando.

Pummeling the Pirates
- The Knights stopped their losing skid on Wednesday, defeating visiting ECU at Addition Financial Arena, 71-64.
- UCF ran out to a 42-25 first-half lead and never looked back, outscoring the Pirates 22-11 on the break and allowing just 4-of-20 shooting from beyond the arc for ECU.
- Darin Green Jr. led the Knights with 18 points and six rebounds, while Darius Perry added 13 and Brandon Mahan chipped in with 12 in the victory.
- UCF connected on a season-high 10 threes and had nine steals to top the Pirates.
Holding the Lead
- UCF has yet to lose a game that it has led with 10 minutes remaining in the contest.
- In all four of the Knights' wins, they have been leading with 10 minutes to play, five minutes to play, and two minutes to play.
- Conversely, UCF has not been able to come back when trailing at the 10-minute mark in the second half, losing all six such games.
Green Is Good
- Green Jr. made quite an impact as a true freshman last season. He was the team's second leading scorer with 10.1 points per game, and set a UCF freshman record with 68 made 3-pointers.
- He led The American with 41.7 percent shooting from 3-point range and 2.3 threes made per game.
- Green currently ranks 11th in the league averaging 12.9 points per game.
- He is also seventh in the league with a 41.4 percent mark from long distance and sixth with 2.4 made 3-pointers per game.
