Day One at Timuquana Collegiate in the Books

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – The UCF men's golf team was back in action for the first time in over a year on Monday as the Knights began their season with two rounds of play at the Timuquana Collegiate. UCF currently sits at tenth place in the tournament with a 570(-6) total.
 
In UCF's return to action, the Knights posted a solid first two rounds of play. After finishing round one in the top-5 with a score of three under par, UCF posted the same score on the next 18 holes, but other team's successes saw them climb the Knights in the leaderboard. The Black and Gold are playing in a stacked field of competition at the Timuquana Collegiate, highlighted by No. 23 Oklahoma State, No. 15 Florida and Florida State.
 
Johnny Travale and newcomer Paul Swindell proved to be a strong duo for UCF on day one as each shot 141(-3) to lead the charge for UCF. Swindell's 69(-3) first round total was tied for 11th among all competition.
 
Clement Charmasson continues to be a steady fixture for UCF as he entered year three for the Knights by turning in an even par performance on the day. Meanwhile, newcomers Egor Eroshenko and Max O'Hagan each shot three over with a total of 147.
 
Shooting individually, Leo Herrera had a solid first round, shooting one under par, but finished the day with a score of 151(+7).
