ORLANDO – The UCF women's basketball team heads out for its first road trip of the season as the Knights travel to Baton Rouge, La., to face LSU on Friday.
 
The teams tip at 7 p.m. ET in the Maravich Center and the game will stream on the SEC Network+.

DOING IT WITH DEFENSE
As has been the norm under head coach Katie Abrahamson-Henderson, defense led the Knights to a third-straight season-opening win over an ACC opponent.
 
The Knights forced Virginia into 30 turnovers, converting those into 27 points. After the Cavaliers opened the game shooting 50 percent from the field, the Black and Gold defense clamped down and did not allow Virginia to covert more than 37 percent of its shots in the remaining three quarters.
 
UCF leads the nation in turnovers forced and scoring defense and is also eight nationally in steals per game and turnover margin.
 
SCOUTING UCF
The Knights opened the season with a 60-34 victory over Virginia on Nov. 25. After trailing 13-5 at the end of the first quarter, UCF outscored the Cavaliers 55-21 over the next three periods for the victory.

Diamond Battles led UCF with 17 points, seven assists and five steals. Alisha Lewis came off the bench to score 13 points and dish out six assists. Courtajia Sanders grabbed five rebounds and matched Battles with five steals. Destiny Thomas pulled down five rebounds off the bench.
 
SCOUTING LSU
LSU enters the contest with an 0-2 record after dropping decisions to BYU and West Virginia at the South Point Thanksgiving Shootout.
 
Faustine Aifuwa leads the Tigers with 12.0 points and 8.0 rebounds per game. Khayla Pointer is LSU's second-leading scorer with 8.0 PPG, 4.0 RPG, 4.5 steals and 3.5 assists per game.
 
THE SERIES
Friday's contest marks the third meeting between UCF and LSU, with the Tigers holding a 2-0 advantage in the all-time series. LSU won the first meeting in Orlando, 77-67 on Dec. 19, 1992. The Tigers won
