DripU Report: Boca Raton Bowl

The final game of the 2020 season will be a big one. UCF is headed to the RoofClaim.com Boca Raton Bowl, where it will face a Top 15 team in the BYU Cougars.

For a matchup this big, why not create a new twist on an all-time combo? The Knights will be sporting Gold/Black/Black, a look more synonymous with the team's identity than any other. But this time, they will be dusting off the Black Knighthead jerseys that we last saw in 2018. And of course, the helmet will feature the white UCF logo that helped the Cincinnati combo look so stunning.

The Black Knighthead jersey has a number of unique components, and this combo does an excellent job of bringing them all together. The white decals accentuate the white collar and player nameplates, while the gold helmet matches up with the large gold numbers, combining for a one-of-a-kind and on-brand combo.

This jersey also has a noteworthy place in UCF history. It was the first ever surprise uniform that the team has worn, originally unveiled before the South Florida game in 2017. Since then, it has been followed by four other surprise jersey reveals.

The Boca Raton Bowl will also be the first postseason contest since the Peach Bowl that UCF has donned gold helmets for. Given that this is just the fourth time that the Knights will face a Top 25 opponent in a bowl, it's only fitting to go with Big Game Gold.

Gold helmets from the Peach Bowl. Black jerseys from the classic win over South Florida. This may be a new combo, but the parts that make it up have been worn for some of the greatest moments in program history.

Perhaps a Top 15 win will be joining that history on Tuesday.
