ORLANDO – Sophomore forward C.J. Walker, the first five-star recruit to ever play at UCF, has been deemed immediately eligible to play for the 2020-21 UCF men's basketball season, head coach Johnny Dawkins announced Monday night.
Walker, a product of Sanford, Florida, played his freshman season at Oregon after leaving Oak Ridge High School as the 2018-19 Orlando Sentinel boys basketball Player of the Year.
While at Oak Ridge, Walker was named Florida Class 9A Player of the Year averaging 15.8 points, 13.8 rebounds and 3.8 blocked shots during his senior campaign. He was the 19th ranked player in the nation when he went west to play for the Ducks.
Last year Walker played in 28 games and started seven times at Oregon. Against Hawaii in December, he scored a season-high 18 points on 8-of-10 shooting.
The Knights get things started on Saturday, Nov. 28, hosting Oklahoma in the first of a two-game, three-day homestand to start the 2020-21 campaign. UCF will host Auburn on Nov. 30.
