DripU Report: Cincinnati

On Saturday, UCF will host one of its biggest home games in recent history, as no. 7 Cincinnati looks to make it out of the Bounce House with its perfect record untarnished.

There is truly only one combo that the Knights could wear for a game this big. Gold/Black/Black is making its long-anticipated return to the field.

When we first saw this look two years ago, it was instantly heralded as one of, if not the, greatest looks UCF has sported in its entire history. The all-black uniforms matched with the brilliant pop of gold on top didn't feel as high-tech as the space uniforms or as cutting edge as some other crazy combos that the Knights have tried.

It just felt right.

It felt like this look is what UCF was always meant to wear, and what it always would wear going forward. As the Knights ran out onto the field for their College GameDay matchup in 2018, there wasn't a thing anyone would've changed about what they were wearing.

But, this being UCF, the team has miraculously found a way to improve its greatest combo ever during its two-year hiatus.

Saturday's gold helmet will feature new decals, with a white stack UCF logo on each side and a beautiful white sword stripe slicing down the middle of the helmet.

We've only seen this all-white setup on the black helmets back in 2018, but this was the perfect occasion to revolutionize the look of the gold lid as well.

Those white decals, with their subtle gold accents, not only pair perfectly on a gold background but tie into the jumbo-sized white numbers of the black jersey so well. UCF's three most important colors, black, white, and gold, flow seamlessly and interchangeably together throughout the entire uniform.

It's simply the best that the Knights have ever looked. If there is any truth at all to the "look good, play good" mantra, then Cincinnati should be very concerned about that perfect record.
