Over the years, UCF has donned a wide variety of special helmets for the team's Military Appreciation Game. Every base helmet has had its turn, and we've seen decals that range from a camouflage UCF logo to a star-spangled knighthead.
But none of them quite measure up to what the Knights are pulling off this weekend.
UCF will be breaking out its brand new Black Ops helmet against Temple on Saturday, honoring America's troops with one of the most stunning looks in college football. The black helmet features dual black knightheads to go along with a black sword stripe, all coming together for what will truly be a stealthy look under the lights.
Each helmet will also feature the military branch that the player has chosen to represent on the front bumper, as well as the player's hometown in coordinates on the back bumper.
And, of course, a Black Ops helmet isn't complete without a blackout to go with it. This will be the second time this year that UCF has gone all-black and will mark the third season since 2016 where the Knights have sported multiple blackouts in the same year.
It's another example of how much the Knights lead the way when it comes to uniforms. Many teams would count themselves lucky to have one good all-black look in their set. Saturday's game will be the sixth unique blackout that UCF has worn since 2016.
This game will also be a chance for the Knights to earn some redemption for an amazing combo. UCF has historically done very well when donned in all black but lost its most recent outing in these uniforms to Tulsa earlier in the year. Now, with some fresh decals, the Knights can once again show how devastating a blackout can be for the opponent.
