Former Knight Kyle Wilshire Dominates Final Round at The Challenge at Harbor Hills

ORLANDO – Former UCF Men's Golfer Kyle Wilshire finished tied for second overall at The Challenge at Harbor Hills on Friday, posting an incredible -9 final round to finish with a 194(-16) total.
 
The event, which is part of the PGA Tour Latinoamérica, took place from Wednesday, September 30 through Friday, October 2 in Lady Lake, Florida. Wilshire shot 67-66-61 in three rounds of play. The round three score of 61 is Wilshire's lowest of his career.
 
Wilshire was red hot on the front nine in the final round, birdieing holes three through seven and not hitting worse than par on all 18 holes. On the back nine, Wilshire shot under on holes 11 and 12 before capping off the incredible round with birdies on the final two holes to finish nine under on the round and 16 under at the event.

Wilshire was a member of the Knights from 2010-2014. During that time, he helped lead the Knights to a conference title in 2010-11, two NCAA Regional appearances in 2010-11 and 2013-14, and two NCAA Championship appearances in 2011-12 and 2012-13. He was on the Korn Ferry Tour in 2017, playing in 22 events.

Also participating in the event were two former UCF All-Americans in Kyler Tate and Greg Eason. Eason shot 67-69-66=202 to finish T18 while Tate shot 70-72=142 in two rounds of play.
