UCF Again Posts Strong Football Attendance Figures

UCF in 2019 posted its third largest home attendance per-game average in Knight history, at the same time averaging more fans per home game than 38.6 percent of Power 6 conference programs and leading the American Athletic Conference in home attendance for the second year in a row.

UCF played six games in Spectrum Stadium in 2019 and drew 262,728 fans—an average of 43,788 each. For the Knights, that ranked only behind 2007 (the year Spectrum Stadium opened as Bright House Stadium) and 2018, both of those with averages of 44,018 per game.

The Knights' average attendance figure in 2019 was higher than those at 29 Power 6 schools: five each from the Big Ten Conference, Atlantic Coast Conference and the Pacific-12 Conference, two from the Big 12 Conference, one from the Southeastern Conference, plus all 11 other AAC programs.

UCF rated 13th nationally in 2019 in terms of percent of capacity at 99.05. The only programs that ranked ahead of the Knights in that category were Nebraska, Utah, Michigan, Ohio State, Baylor, Georgia, North Carolina (those seven were at 100 per cent or higher), Oklahoma, Alabama, Oregon, Clemson and Penn State.

UCF in 2019 ranked 49th nationally in average per-game attendance with the Knights' 43,788 figure. That ranked tops in the AAC—ahead of Memphis (38,816), Cincinnati (35,985) and East Carolina (33,134). Teams rated ahead of the Knights were 13 from the SEC, nine each from the ACC and Big Ten, eight from the Big 12, seven from the Pac-12, plus two independents. UCF also led the AAC in attendance in 2018 at 44,018 fans per home game.

UCF in 2019 drew four crowds that rank in the top 25 all-time for single-game home attendance: USF (14th at 45,216), Stanford (16th at 45,008), Connecticut (21st at 44,164) and Florida A&M (24th at 44,073).

The 2019 campaign marked the fourth time in 13 years that UCF has averaged more than 42,000 fans per home game.

The Knights in 2019 sold out their football season tickets for the first time in UCF history, creating a waiting list that now includes more than 3,000 seats and also for the first time prompting discussion of potential Spectrum Stadium expansion.

UCF heads into the 2020 season with an active 21-game home winning streak that ranks as longest in the country (tied with Clemson).
