ORLANDO, Fla. – The UCF men's tennis team has added a talented piece to their roster as five-star recruit Quinn Snyder has joined the Knights for the upcoming 2020-21 season.
Snyder hails from New Jersey where he sat as the No. 1 prospect in his recruiting class and boasts an impressive national ranking of 47. He climbed as high as No. 4 in the country at one point in his young career.
Not only has Snyder risen high above the competition in the rankings but may also literally rise above his opponents on the court, standing at 6 feet, 5 inches tall. That makes him the tallest player on the Knights roster this season.
Snyder sites the coaching staff as being a major contributor to him choosing to bring his talents to UCF.
"Aside from having one of the best head and assistant coaches in the country, the team is friendly, hardworking and has good chemistry," said Snyder.
Snyder was victorious at the Coral Gables G4 doubles and was close to winning a handful of other notable tournaments, including reaching the finals of the 16s Winter Nationals and the semifinals of the 16s Kalamazoo doubles and Costa Rica G1 doubles.
The five-star recruit is the lone freshmen on this year's squad. He joins a talented group of four juniors and three sophomores who started their 2020 dual match season with a record of 10-3 before it's abrupt ending due to the outbreak of COVID-19.
