Barry Roof Named to ASUN All-Decade Team

ORLANDO - The ASUN Conference announced the Men's Golf 2001-10 All-Decade Team on Wednesday as 20 student-athletes were named to the list across eight programs. The Knights' own Barry Roof (2002-04) was among the honorees.

Roof is just one of four Knights to earn medalist honors, taking the title in 2004 as he led UCF to the ASUN Championship crown before going on to earn all-southeast region honors that year as well.

Roof's 54-hole score of 205 in 2004 is tied for the third-lowest total in ASUN Championship history. He was tabbed the ASUN Golfer of the Year in 2004 and was a First Team All-Conference honoree. His 72.59 scoring average remains top-5 in the UCF record books.

To be named to the All-Decade Team an individual must have competed for at least two years in the decade as an ASUN student-athlete. Individuals that obtained one of the following criteria were named to the team; three First Team All-Conference selections, four All-Conference selections or multiple Scholar-Athlete/Player of the Year. Individuals that obtained at least two of the following criteria were also named to the team; Player/Freshman/Scholar-Athlete of the Year/Championship Medalist, three All-Conference selections, two First Team All-Conference selections or three top-10 at ASUN Championship.

The conference also named two former UCF women's golfers to the women's All-Decade Team in Olivia Hartley and Tanja Arnold. To read more about those two and their time at UCF, check out the official UCF Women's Golf page here.
