ATLANTA – The ASUN Conference announced the Women's Basketball 2001-10 All-Decade Team on Friday, recognizing former Knight Celeste Hudson among the 17 honorees.
A two-time First Team All-Conference selection and two-time All-Tournament Team member, Hudson helped the Knights capture two regular season titles and a share of the title in 2003-04. She was the first-ever ASUN Defensive Player of the Year and is tied for 32nd in career three-point field goals (157) in ASUN history.
The Altamonte Springs native, who suited up for UCF from 2002-07, became the 10th Knight to reach 1,000 career points and was UCF's leading scorer with 404 points during the 2003-04 season. She led the Knights in three-point field goal percentage for three straight seasons. Hudson ranks third all-time at UCF in three-point field goals made and is among the top 10 in career steals and free throw percentage.
To be named to the All-Decade Team, an individual must have competed for at least two years in the decade as an ASUN student-athlete. Individuals that obtained one of the following criteria were named to the team: three First Team All-Conference selections, four All-Conference selections, multiple Scholar-Athlete/Player of the Year, 1,500 career points or 1,000 career rebounds. Individuals that obtained at least two of the following criteria were also named to the team: Player/Tournament MVP/Freshman/Defensive Player/Newcomer/Scholar-Athlete of the Year, three All-Conference selections, two First Team All-Conference selections or two All-Tournament team selections.
