Big Game Gold is making its return to #Knightlanta. UCF will be rocking the gold helmets to go with anthracite jerseys and pants as the Knights look to open the season with a big-time road win against Georgia Tech.

The Yellow Jackets going white at home gave the Knights a chance to break out a uniform combo that has only been seen once before, last worn against Maryland at the Bounce House in 2016. Back then, it was the first time that UCF had donned gold lids in 10 years. Now, it will continue the team's tradition of saving this look for the biggest occasions.

In recent years, UCF has gone gold up top for big games such as the Peach Bowl against Auburn and perennial Pac-12 power Stanford's trip to Orlando.

This specific gold helmet, featuring the traditional UCF stack logo with a white stroke, was last seen when College GameDay came to town and UCF blew out No. 24 Cincinnati to lock up the AAC East in 2018.

It's a truly "UCF" look. The last few years have shown us how seamlessly gray fits into the Knights' identity and that is on full display here. The anthracite stands out in sharp contrast to the jumbo-sized white numbers, and the dazzling pop of gold on top brings together a battle-ready look.

While this combo's last appearance ended in an overtime loss to Maryland, it also holds an important place in UCF history: Gold/Anthracite/Anthracite is the first uniform we ever saw McKenzie Milton take the field in. Now, Dillon Gabriel will get his turn in this classic combo.
