ORLANDO - The ASUN Conference announced its Volleyball 2000-09 All-Decade Team on Monday as 19 student-athletes were named to the list across seven programs. The Knights led the way with three selections in Jenny Frank (2000-03), Piper Morgan (1998-2001) and Leyre Santaella Santé (2000-02).
During the decade, the Knights were one of six programs to capture ASUN Championship titles, leading the way with three (2001, 2002 and 2003).
Frank captured the ASUN's Player of the Year award in 2003 and helped UCF to three consecutive ASUN Championship titles while capturing the regular season title outright in 2003. She concluded her career as a three-time All-Conference selection with two First Team nods (2002-03) and as a three-time All-Tournament Team honoree (2001-03). Frank ranks eighth for total career assists (4,102) in ASUN history.
Morgan was a three-time First Team All-ASUN selection and helped the Knights to the 2001 ASUN Championship title. She helped UCF post an undefeated conference season in 1999, earning the Regular Season crown before earning a share of the regular season title in 2000 and 2001. Morgan is a two-time All-Tournament Team member (1999-2000) and sits third all-time in ASUN career hitting percentage with a .381 mark.
Sante, the 2002 ASUN Player of the Year, earned three All-Conference honors including two First Team nods during the decade (2001-02) while also leading UCF to a share of three straight regular season titles (2000-02). In 2001 and 2002, Sante was tabbed Tournament MVP after the Knights won the Championship crown, their first since 1997. She also has the second-most Player of the Week honors for UCF (5).
To be named to the All-Decade Team an individual must have competed for at least two years in the decade as an ASUN student-athlete. Individuals that obtained one of the following criteria were named to the team; three First Team All-Conference selections, four All-Conference selections, multiple Scholar-Athlete/Player of the Year honors or ASUN Hall of Famer. Individuals that obtained at least two of the following criteria were also named to the team; Player/Tournament MVP/Freshman/Defensive Player/Libero/Scholar-Athlete of the Year, three All-Conference selections, two First Team All-Conference selections.
