UCF Adds Austin Carrola to Coaching Staff

ORLANDO, Fla. – The UCF men's tennis team has announced that Austin Carrola will join the coaching staff as a volunteer assistant coach for the 2020-21 season.

Carrola was most recently the head tennis coach at Lake View High School in San Angelo, Texas. The team earned District, Bi-District and Area Champions in the fall of 2019. Carrola helped the Chiefs to a ranking of No. 16 in the state and No. 6 in their region at the UIL 4A level. The team collected 15 wins in 19 matches and went undefeated in their district.

Prior to his time at the helm of Lake View, Carrola served was part of the staff at Schreiner University. He began his career there as the assistant men's and women's tennis coach for two seasons, helping both teams to top 20 rankings in the ITA's DIII West Region. Carrola was promoted to head coach of both programs in the fall of 2017 and continued to help the team succeed. The team never had a season below .500 while Carrola was a head and assistant coach, with the men's team climbing as high as No. 17 and the women reaching a No. 19 ranking in their region.

He went undefeated at No. 1 doubles during the 2015 SCAC Conference Championship and was named as one of the top 10 players in the conference that year.

Austin and his wife, Breigh, now live in Orlando with their two rescue dogs, Mowgli and Zander. After moving to Orlando, Carrola accepted a position as a tennis professional at the USTA National Campus.
