ORLANDO – A bit later in the summer than normal, the American Athletic Conference Preseason Media Poll was announced on Tuesday, and UCF was the pick to win the league for the third straight year.
The Knights, who have won AAC titles in 2013, 2014, 2017 and 2018, received 10 out of 20 first-place votes, garnering 204 total points, to edge out Cincinnati for the top spot in the poll.
Cincinnati was second with 201 points and seven first-place nods. Memphis was third with two first place votes and 192 total points, while SMU (146) and Navy (125, 1 first-place vote) rounded out the top five.
UCF, which comes into the 2020 season ranked 21st in both the AP Top 25 and the Amway Coaches Poll, gets started Sept. 19 at Georgia Tech.
