UCF's Corey Thornton Named True Freshman Preseason All-American

ORLANDO – The recruiting website 247 Sports announced its preseason true freshman All-America team on Monday and UCF's Corey Thornton was one of the 23 players in FBS to be honored.
 
Thornton, a defensive back from Miami, comes to UCF via Booker T. Washington High School. The 6-foot-1, 175-pound corner led Booker T. to a Florida Class 4A state title in 2019, defeating Jacksonville Bolles 25-21 in the championship.
 
His team went 14-2 overall in 2019 with a No. 1 final regular season ranking by the Associated Press and No. 8 in all Florida divisions by FloridaHSFootball.com.
 
Thornton and the Knights are set to begin the 2020 season on Sept. 19 at Georgia Tech and return home for their first home game on Oct. 3 against Tulsa.
