Knights Open at 21st in Coaches Poll

ORLANDO – The preseason Amway Coaches Poll for the 2020 college football season was released by USA Today on Thursday, and UCF was picked 21st overall.
 
The Knights finished the 2019 season ranked 24th in the Coaches Poll after going 10-3. It marked the third straight season that UCF finished in the Top 25.
 
Heading into 2020, UCF improved three spots, moving up to 21st with 232 total points. It is the third time in program history that the Knights have been ranked in the preseason poll, coming in at 23rd in the Coaches poll prior to 2018nand 17th prior to last season.
 
UCF is one of two American Athletic Conference teams in the Top 25, as Cincinnati polled 22nd, just behind the Knights.
 
Clemson topped the poll with Ohio State, Alabama, Georgia and LSU rounding out the top five.
