NEW ORLEANS – The UCF track and field team and three of its student-athletes earned all-academic honors from the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) on Thursday.

The Knights earned all-academic honors as a team. Ciara Holback, Imani Clark and Rayniah Jones were named to the all-academic team.

UCF was among the 264 women's teams to earn the accolades for holding a cumulative GPA of 3.00 or higher. The Knights held a team GPA of 3.38.

Individually, three members of the squad were among the 659 female student-athletes that garnered academic honors from the USTFCCCA.

The three were recognized for a combination of excellence athletically and academically. To qualify for the award, each student-athlete must have compiled a cumulative GPA of 3.25 or higher and have met one of the follow athletic standards:

  • For the indoor season, a student-athlete must have finished the regular season ranked in the national top 96 in an individual event or ranked in the national top 48 (collective listing) in a relay event on the official NCAA POP list provided by TFRRS.org.

Holback, who earned All-America honors as a member of the 4x1 relay that advanced to the 2019 NCAA Championship, added all-academic honors to her list of accomplishments as a Knight. She ranked in the top 50 nationally in both the 60-meter dash and 200-meter dash. Her 60m personal best time of 7.34 ranked 33rd nationally. Holback ran a personal-best 23.61 in the 200m at the 2020 American Athletic Conference Indoor Championship, finishing fourth. Her time ranked 41st in the nation.

Clark advanced to the finals in both the 60-meter dash and 200-meter dash at The American Athletic Indoor Championship. She ran a personal-best 23.69 to finish fifth in the 200m at the meet, which ranked 54th in the nation.

In her first season as a Knight, Jones continued to show improvement every time she lined up. She was the only freshman to make the 60-meter dash finals and The American Indoor Championship, just missing the podium with a fourth-place finish. Jones ranked 73rd nationally in the hurdles.
