Orlando, Fla. – After a surprise end to a shortened 2020 campaign, 21 Knights have found themselves back on the diamond, playing competitive baseball again in 2020. The 21 members of the UCF baseball team are spread across the nation on 10 teams in four leagues, in an effort to continue to collect more at-bats and innings pitched against top-tier collegiate opposition.
Summer League Notes
- The 15-team Coastal Plain League has been trimmed down to seven teams and is set to officially begin play on July 1.
- The Florida Collegiate Summer League began a two-week preseason on June 15 in Sanford, Fla. with the first pitch of the 2020 season coming on June 29. All ten Florida League teams will play home games at Sanford Memorial Stadium, Pat Thomas Stadium in Leesburg, Fla. or Melching Field at Conrad Park in DeLand, Fla.
- The Northwoods League has begun play in multiple "pods" consisting of three to six teams, with each pod hosting their own form of post-season.
- The South Florida Collegiate Baseball League officially began its summer season on June 12, with 10 teams spanning from West Palm Beach to Fort Lauderdale.
