Tacko Falls Earns NBA G League All-Defensive Team Honors

ORLANDO – The NBA G League announced its end-of-the-year awards on Friday and former UCF star Tacko Fall was named as one of the top-five defensive players in the league, earning All-Defensive Team accolades in his first season as a professional.

Fall, who is UCF's all-time leader in blocked shots and field goal percentage, helped lead the Knights to their first NCAA Tournament berth in over a decade and the program's first NCAA Tournament win a first-round victory over VCU in 2019.

The 7-foot-6 center spent his first season away from Orlando as a two-way player for the Boston Celtics, spending time between the NBA club and the team's G League affiliate Maine Red Claws, located in Portland.

In 29 games played with the Red Claws, Fall averaged 12.9 points, 11.1 rebounds and 2.9 blocked shots per game in just 23.3 minutes per contest. He shot 70.7 percent from the field and only averaged 2.3 personal fouls per outing.

He ranked second in the league in field goal percentage, third in blocked shots per game and sixth in rebounding.

Fall made his NBA debut on October 26, scoring four points and grabbing three rebounds against the Knicks. He played in a total of six NBA games with the Celtics.
