ORLANDO, Fla. – After earning a huge win over No. 20 Texas Tech and adding a victory over Memphis on Sunday, the UCF men's tennis team rises to No. 22 in this week's Oracle/ITA team rankings, their highest mark in program history in that poll.
The Knights have surged out to an impressive 8-3 start to the 2020 campaign, winning their last six matches. They've topped four teams that were either in the rankings or receiving votes and have picked up three Power 6 wins with two more on the schedule.
Gabriel Decamps and Juan Pablo Grassi Mazzuchi have played a big role in UCF's success so far this season. Both are ranked in singles and combine to create the nation's No. 7 doubles tandem. They've gone 9-1 together as a tandem during the dual match season and have won seven straight matches.
The Black and Gold jump 11 spots from No. 33 in last week's Oracle/ITA rankings. The Knights currently sit at the No. 20 position in the USTA College Tennis Top 25. A new version of that poll will be released tomorrow.
