Knights Ranked in Every Major Poll

ORLANDO – UCF continues to garner national recognition for its historic start to the 2020 campaign as the Knights check in on Tuesday with Top 25 rankings in four separate polls.

For the second straight week, UCF is ranked 21 in the Softball America Top 25 Poll, released on Tuesday. Meanwhile, the Knights crack into both the NFCA/USA Today and ESPN/USA Softball Top 25 polls as each have the Knights as the 22nd best team in the nation. UCF also checks in at No. 24 in the latest D1 Softball Top 25 poll.



UCF was last ranked in the Top 25 in week 14 of the 2016 season. The Knights finished 38-22 that year and made it to the NCAA regional tournament.

The highest ranking the Knights have ever received came in 2015, when they were pegged as the 13th best team in the nation in weeks 15 and 16 in the USA Today/NFCA Coaches Poll. UCF would go on to post a 50-9 record that season, was crowned the American Athletic Conference regular season and tournament champion, and advanced to the NCAA regional tournament. After starting the year 13-2, this year's Knights squad has tied the 2015 team's record as the best 15-game start in program history.

UCF's next three games are against No. 12 FSU (March 4), No. 16 Michigan (March 6) and No. 1 UCLA (March 6). UCF also plays No. 18 Minnesota on March 8.

ON DECK
UCF will have a chance to defend its ranking as the Knights will invite No. 12 Florida State to town on Wednesday, March 4 to make up the game that was postponed on Feb. 26. First pitch is scheduled for 6:00 pm.
