Turn Your State Gold
Four consecutive postseason football bowl games, two of those the New Year's Six variety.
Recent NCAA Championship team appearances in basketball, soccer, volleyball, golf, tennis and rowing.
Winning records for every UCF team (the only NCAA Football Bowl Subdivision program to accomplish this) in both 2017-18 and 2018-19.
A current No. 29 national ranking in the NACDA Learfield Directors Cup all-sports standings—the highest UCF has stood following the fall sports seasons.
Those are just the highlights from the Knights' recent athletic resume.
Yet UCF vice president and athletics director Danny White believes the Knights are just beginning to scratch the surface of their athletics potential—and he understands that support from UCF's fans and more than 300,000 alumni (about 242,000 living in Florida) will be critical in paving the way for even more of that national-level success.
Now, UCF's ChargeOn Fund gives alumni and fans from all 50 states the chance to help future UCF athletic teams achieve all those goals and more. With the Knights sold out of football season tickets for the first time in 2019—and likely again in 2020—the fund represents the most practical way to support UCF athletics.
The ChargeOn Fund serves as the annual fund for UCF sports—any gifts less than $4,999 creating discretionary resources that benefit all Knights' sports teams. White is challenging Knight Nation to create participation from all 50 states.
"We have grand, ambitious goals for athletics at UCF. Whether it's facilities or improving budgets for travel or recruiting, it's up to us to identify additional resources in our mission to move our programs forward," says White.
"Our fans have experienced a real taste of success the last few years, yet it's important to understand that doesn't come about by accident. We have strategic plans to continually invest in all of our programs--and we need the help of our fans and alumni to accomplish that. No matter where you live you can support our teams through our Knight Nation Challenge."
The goal for the ChargeOn Fund is 10,000 contributors by 2022. UCF currently has approximately 7,500 athletic donors through the 2019-20 year.
"We've got the fastest-growing alumni base in the country, and there's no athletic program in the nation that has made those same jumps as far as our successes and visibility on the fields and courts of play," says White. "In many ways, we've only just begun, and the ChargeOn Fund represents a perfect way for everybody that's a part of Knight Nation to jump on board and join us for the ride.
"We're in the business of providing all 16 of our UCF sports the ability to be a top-25 program. To accomplish that, it's essential for us to recruit, retain and develop championship caliber student-athletes and coaches and to deliver exceptional academic support services, competitive operating resources that include equipment, travel, salaries and scholarships—in addition to world-class facilities for competition, practice, training, recovery and nutrition.
"Help turn your state gold by being a part of the ChargeOn Fund.
"Go Knights! Charge On!"
