ORLANDO (UCFKnights.com) – The UCF track and field team returns to action on Saturday, heading to College Station for the Charlie Thomas Invitational.
Action at the Gillam Indoor Track Stadium begins at 1:30 p.m. ET. The Knights open the running events with the 60-meter dash and start field events with the high jump.
The Knights resume their indoor season following a bye week. The last time out, the Black and Gold competed at the Rod McCravy Memorial Meet. Fourteen Knights posted personal records, with six of those leading to top 15 finishes.
Shian Hyde's time of 7.38 in the 60m at the Rod McCravy Memorial led her to a second-place finish in the finals with the third-best mark on the conference performance list. Following their teammate, Ciara Holback and Loren Gallmon's 60m times place them in the top 10 as well.
Charlotte Crook posted a personal best in Lexington, posting a time of 2:13.10 in the 800m, which ranks third in the conference.
Rayniah Jones has shown improvement each time she has lined up for the 60-meter hurdles, and did so again at the Rod McCravy Memorial. Not only did the rookie qualify for finals, her time of 8.54 placed her fourth on the conference performance list.
