ORLANDO – The UCF Men's Golf team is gearing up for it's second tournament of the spring as the Knights will head to Las Vegas, Nevada to play in the Southern Highlands Collegiate Invitational, taking place Sunday, March 1 through Tuesday, March 3.
The Knights will play on the par 72, 7,510-yard Southern Highlands Golf Club. The tournament is structured as a 54-hole stroke play with the lowest four scores counted each round for the team total. Teams will play 18-hole rounds each day and individual ties will be broken by sudden-death playoff. Play will begin at 9 am PT each day with tee times off the No. 1 and No. 10 holes.
The third round of the tournament on March 3 will be live streamed. Fans can watch the stream here. Score updates will also be provided following each round of the invitational here on UCFKnights.com, as well as via golfstat.com.
Also, for the second time, the individual champion will receive an exemption into the PGA Tour's Shriners Hospitals for Children Open, which will take place Oct. 8-11, 2020 at TPC Summerlin in Las Vegas.
The 15-team field includes No. 5 Duke, No. 22 Florida, No. 19 Georgia, No. 2 Georgia Tech,
New Mexico, No. 1 Oklahoma, No. 3 Pepperdine, No. 13 SMU, Southern California, TCU, No. 4 Texas, No. 7 Texas Tech, UCLA, UNLV and UCF.
The Knights will roll out a lineup of Johnny Travale, Clement Charmassson, Guillermo Estivill, Teddy Tetek and Juan Delgado. Qualifying information can be found below.
QUALIFYING INFORMATION
- Johnny Travale qualified for the 1st spot in the lineup for the 2020 Southern Highlands Collegiate by virtue of winning the four-round qualifier with a score of +1.
- Clement Charmasson qualified for the 2nd spot in the lineup for the 2020 Southern Highlands Collegiate by virtue of finishing 2nd in the four-round qualifier with a score of +5.
- Guillermo Estivill qualified for the 3rd spot in the lineup for the 2020 Southern Highlands Collegiate by virtue of finishing 3rd in the four-round qualifier with a score of +14.
- Teddy Tetak qualified for the 4th spot in the lineup for the 2020 Southern Highlands Collegiate by virtue of finishing 4th in the four-round qualifier with a score of +18.
- Juan Delgado will play in the 5th spot as a coaches' selection for the 2020 Southern Highlands Collegiate by virtue of a 5th place finish in the four-round qualifier with a score of +19.
