ORLANDO, Fla. – The No. 17 UCF baseball team will continue their road trip as they travel to Bethune-Cookman on Tuesday, Feb. 25 for the Knights' second mid-week matchup of the season. First pitch is scheduled for 6 p.m. at Jackie Robinson Ballpark.
UCF is coming off of a 3-1 week, featuring a three-game sweep over the then-ranked No. 8 Auburn Tigers. Jordan Rathbone was named American Athletic Conference Player of the Week after his stellar performances against Stetson and Auburn the previous week, hitting .478 and slugging three homers. Jeff Hakanson also picked up an honor roll mention after earning two saves in the series with Auburn.
The Black and Gold picked up their first rankings in multiple polls, coming in at No. 17 by the Collegiate Baseball Newspaper, No. 19 by D1Baseball.com, No. 21 from Baseball America and No. 25 by the NWCBA.
Bethune-Cookman sits at 4-3 overall in 2020, coming off of a 1-2 weekend after playing a three-game set with Central Connecticut State. The Black and Gold hold the all-time series over the Wildcats at 83-17 after winning both contests in 2019 at John Euliano Park.
