UCF Wins Florida Cup Opener 4-0

ORLANDO, Fla. – The UCF men's soccer team was victorious in its first match of the spring season as they defeated Jacksonville by a score of 4-0 on Saturday night.

Louis Perez got the action going quickly as he was able to cash in off a juicy rebound in the fourth minute to put the Knights up early.

UCF extended their lead to 2-0 in the 32nd minute as Perez punched in another, this time on a penalty kick resulting from a hand ball in the box.

The Black and Gold picked up right where they left off in the second half as Jose Aldaco netted a goal in the 50th minute with assists from Gino Vivi and Andrew Lizyness. The Knights added the final score of the night as Richard Amon buried a chance in the 64th minute.

Matt Douglass was tested late and made a flurry of saves off quality chances to keep the shutout alive.
