Knights Set to Host Stetson

ORLANDO, Fla. (UCFKnighs.com) – The Knights are back at John Euliano Park looking to build off of a strong opening weekend that saw them sweep Siena. They will host Stetson on Tuesday with first pitch set for 6 p.m.


Zack Hunsicker will get the start for the Knights. The sophomore righty made 21 appearances last season and owned a 3-1 record with a 4.59 ERA.
The Hatters will trot out the right hander Danny Garcia. Garcia will be making his first start of the season but has made one appearance this year, recording one strikeout and a 6.75 ERA. 


  • UCF will face Stetson for the 122nd time. The Knights hold the advantage 74-48. This is UCF's longest running series with an out of conference opponent and second longest amongst all teams only behind South Florida.
  • Sinclair, Pena honor roll, Sinclair 10 K's in 4, Gordon 10 K's in 6.1
  • Colton Gordon started the season off on a high note, striking out 10 in 6.1 innings of work
  • Jack Sinclair fanned 10 batters in four innings
  • Gephry Pena had a stellar opening weekend, hitting .385 with a home run and a triple, and had a nailed a runner at the plate to preserve UCF's lead on Opening Knight
  • Jack Sinclair and Gephry Pena were named to the American Athletic Conference Honor Roll for their performances against Siena
  • Tom Josten and Ben Rushing each hit their first home as Knights against Siena
