Opens in a new window Full Schedule

ORLANDO – The UCF Men's Golf spring season is right around the corner and after a strong showing in the fall that included winning the Tavistock Collegiate Invitational, head coach Bryce Wallor and his squad will look to build upon their success as they play a tough schedule of opponents in the coming months.

"We had some incredible performances both individually and as a team [in the fall]," said Wallor. "We played extremely well at Isleworth and won at home and that is record-setting for our program. I think that just shows our youth… we've got some people working really hard, but I just think now we have to get to work."

During the spring, UCF will compete in five tournaments before the American Athletic Conference Championship, with three of the five tournaments taking place in the state of Florida, while they will also be making trips to Las Vegas and Augusta, Georgia.

"We are really just trying to put in a lot of hours [out at the practice course]," said sophomore Johnny Travale. "We are preparing really well, and it should be a good turnout. We want to get to nationals. I think that is a very attainable goal for us as we've played with the best teams in the country and we've beat them. If we just keep working hard and doing our thing, I think we can attain that goal."

The Knights played well in the fall, winning two of five tournaments and posting top three finishes in three of them.

The highlight of the fall for UCF was winning the Tavistock Collegiate Invitational, where the Knights shot 844(-20) to finish first overall. The Knights' 54-hole total was 14 shots lower than the next best school, LSU, who shot 858(-6) in the three rounds of play. UCF's victory came at the expense of some of the top ranked programs in the nation, including No. 4 Texas Tech, No. 7 Arizona State and No. 18 Texas just to name a few.

The Knights will start the spring off in Gainesville, Fla. as they play in the Gator Invitational from Feb. 15-16. The 2020 Augusta Haskins Award Invitational will be the final tournament before the Knights head to The American Championship in Palm Harbor from April 26-28.

"The Bulk and strength of our schedule is coming," said Wallor. "We are going to see some of the best teams nationally week in and week out and we are going to find out how hard we want it and how bad we want it right now."

If the Knights play well enough, they will have a chance to play in an NCAA Regional with the hope to advance to the NCAA Championship. UCF has made it to the NCAA Championship nine times in its history, most recently in the 2017-18 season. This year, the NCAA Championship is scheduled for May 29 - June 3 in Scottsdale, Arizona.
