ORLANDO (UCFKnights.com) – The UCF women's basketball team returns to Addition Financial Arena for a Saturday matinee against Memphis.
 
The Knights (10-7, 2-3 The American) and the Tigers (10-8, 1-4 The American) tip at 2 p.m. ET.

WE BACK PAT
We Back Pat began on Sunday, Jan. 19. The week-long initiative is focused on bringing awareness and recognition to the Pat Summitt Foundation and its fight against Alzheimer's disease.
 
The Knights will play in its second We Back Pat game when they host Memphis on Jan. 25. The team will wear We Back Pat shooting shirts while the coaching staff will wear purple for awareness of the fight against Alzheimer's.
 
KNIGHT NOTES
UCF dropped a midweek heartbreaker at Tulane, 60-59. The Knights are led offensively by Kay Kay Wright who averages 15.6 points per game, 4.0 assists per game and 2.3 steals per game.

The Knights have also seen a sophomore surge from Brittney Smith, who joins Wright as a double-digit scorer for the Black and Gold. Nine double-digit performances, including a pair of 20-point games, bumped her to a 10.7 points per game scoring average. The Orlando native is also second in rebounding with 5.4 boards per game.

Sianni Martin averages 8.9 points per game and is shooting 42.6 percent from beyond the arc. Masseny Kaba leads the Knights with 6.5 boards per game and also averages 8.3 points per game.
 
The Knights defense has stepped up this season. UCF ranks 34th nationally in turnovers forced at 20.12 per game. The Knights hold a 3.24 turnover margin which ranks 66th in the nation.
 
UCF leads The American and ranks 30th nationally with a 75.5 free throw percentage.

SCOUTING THE TIGERS
The Tigers are 10-8 on the season and defeated SMU on Jan. 21 for a 1-4 mark in league play.
 
Jamirah Shutes averages 14.4 points per game and 2.0 steals per game. Dulcy Mendjiadeu averages 11.6 points per game and is Memphis' leading rebounder at 7.9 boards per game. Keke Hunter is just behind Mendjiadeu with 7.4 rebounds per game.
 
The Tigers lead the all-time series 16-13, but the Knights have won the last three meetings between the squads.
