ORLANDO (UCFKnights.com) – A pair of personal bests and conference-leading marks led Shian Hyde to the American Athletic Conference Runner of the Week honors.
 
The senior sprinter opened the Orange and Purple Elite in the prelims of the 60-meter dash where she finished second in her heat and advanced to the finals. Hyde posed a personal best time of 7.40 to finish seventh overall in the event.
 
Hyde closed out her day with a dominant performance in the 200-meter dash. Her personal-best time of 23.37 was the second-fastest in the event, and she was the top collegiate finisher.
 
Not only are her 60m and 200m marks are conference-leading times, she ranks second nationally in the 200m and 18th in the country in the 60m. She also moved up UCF's all-time performers list in both events, sitting fourth on the 200m chart and eighth on the 60m.
 
A native of St. Catherine, Jamaica, Hyde earned her first conference accolade, and became the first Knight to earn the indoor distinction since Anne-Marie Blaney in 2017.
 
UCF returns to action at the two-day Rod McCravy Invitational, hosted by Kentucky Jan. 24-25.
