ORLANDO, Fla. (UCFKnights.com) – Senior Cal Jennings has been recognized for his accomplishment on and off the pitch as he has been named to the 2019 Academic All-America Second Team presented by CoSIDA.
The nod comes after Jennings was named to the All-District First team alongside teammate Andres Hernandez Betancur.
Jennings has done a lot in his last two seasons with UCF. In the classroom, he has earned a 3.70 GPA in his time at UCF and was named to the Dean's List in both semesters of the 2018-19 academic calendar. The two Dean's List nods from that year bring his total to six in his time at UCF. He is a four-year AAC Academic All-American and earned a spot on the President's Honor Roll in the spring of 2018. His efforts in the classroom will allow him to graduate a semester early. He will leave UCF with a major in Nonprofit Management and a minor in Sports Business Management.
Nearly everyone knows about Jennings' success on the pitch. He posted 38 goals over the last two seasons, with 18 of them coming this year. He tallied 40 points in his senior campaign to bring his career total to 108, good enough for fourth place on UCF's career points list.
Jennings is the only player from the American Athletic Conference in either of the first two All-America teams.
