Jennings Named Hermann Trophy Semifinalist

ORLANDO, Fla. (UCFKnights.com) – After another incredible campaign, senior Cal Jennings has been named as a semifinalist for the MAC Hermann Trophy.

Jennings tallied 18 goals this season and collected a total of 40 points. He was clutch when the team needed him most, scoring seven game winning goals with three of those game winners coming in overtime, helping propel the Knights to their best season in program history.

He was in the conversation for the national lead in multiple stat categories. Jennings flirted with the lead in goals scored all season and currently sits tied atop the leaderboard with two other players. He is fifth in the nation in goals per game and fourth in the country in total points. He is tied with four players for game-winning goals and is sixth in points per game. He leads the conference in all the above categories.

Jennings was named as a MAC Hermann Trophy semifinalist after last season's 20 goal performance. He is the only player in program history to earn the honor and has now done it twice.

The accolades keep coming for Jennings, who this season alone has gathered national attention for awards he's received. He was named as the American Athletic Conference Offensive Player of the Year for the second consecutive season. Jennings was unanimously named to the All-Conference first team, making it the third straight season he has made the squad. He was also named as one of ten finalists for the Senior CLASS Award, an honor that recognizes student-athletes for their achievements in four areas of excellence: community, classroom, character and competition.

Jennings will leave UCF with his name scattered all over the record book. He sits in fourth and fifth place on the single season goals scored list (20 in 2018, 18 in 2019) and fourth on the all-time goals scored list with 46. Jennings is also fourth in career points with a mark of 108. He finished fourth and sixth in single season points with 45 in 2018 and 40 in 2019. In 2018, Jennings obliterated the shots record by posting and even 100, topping the previous best mark of 79 which was achieved by Heikki Ritvanen in 1999. Jennings also sits in a tie for seventh place for his 67 shots posted this season.
