ORLANDO (UCFKnights.com) – The UCF women's basketball team continues its home stand this weekend as the Knights host the UCF Holiday Tournament.
 
The two-day tournament begins Friday at noon with a neutral site matchup between Wright State and St. Bonaventure. UCF takes on St. Mary's at 2:30 p.m.

Friday, Dec. 20
Wright State vs. St. Bonaventure – 12 p.m.
UCF vs. St. Mary's – 2:30 p.m.
 
Saturday, Dec. 21
St. Bonaventure vs. St. Mary's – 11 a.m.
UCF vs. Wright State – 1:30 p.m.
 
THE KNIGHTS
UCF (5-4) returns to action with the UCF Holiday Tournament. The Knights continue their home stand after an 80-58 victory over Quinnipiac on Dec. 17. Four Knights reached double figures as the Knights used a balanced team effort to top the Bobcats following a two-week break from action.
 
Kay Kay Wright paces the Knights with 12.0 points per game and leads the team in assists (28) and steals (16). Sianni Martin averages 11.1 points per contest for UCF.
 
Masseny Kaba is UCF's leading rebounder with 6.1 boards per game. Brittney Smith tallied her second double-double of the season in the win over Quinnipiac with a career-best 18 points and 10 rebounds. Smith is the second-leading rebounder with 5.1 boards per game and has eight blocks on the season.
 
Game Notes vs. St. Mary's

THE FIELD
UCF opens the tournament against St. Mary's on Friday. The Gaels are 4-5 on the season, having won two of their last three outings. St. Mary's has four players that average double-figures, led by Sam Simons' 16.1 points per game. Emily Codding leads the Gaels with 8.2 rebounds per outing to go along with 15.6 points and 1.0 block per contest. Taycee Wedin and Madeline Holland average 12.0 and 11.0 points per game, respectively.
 
Friday's contest marks the first-ever meeting between UCF and St. Mary's.
 
On Saturday, UCF will face Wright State, who enters the weekend 5-4 on the season. Angel Baker leads the Raiders offensively with 19.9 points, 3.9 assists and 1.6 steals per game. Michal Miller averages 13.4 points per contest and Tyler Frierson leads Wright State in rebounding with 8.2 boards per game.
 
Wright State leads the all-time series, 2-0. The last meeting between the programs came during the 2010-11 season.
 
Though the Knights won't face them, St. Bonaventure will also suit up in Addition Financial Arena this weekend. The Bonnies are 2-8 overall this season and will take on Wright State and St. Mary's. Asianae Johnson leads St. Bonaventure offensively with 11.3 points per game and Emily Calabrese averages 6.6 rebounds per game.

The Knights continue their home stand on Dec. 30, hosting Central Michigan in the final non-conference matchup of the season.
