ORLANDO, Fla. (UCFKnights.com) – The Final Stage of the Korn Ferry Tour Qualifying Tournament wrapped up Sunday afternoon at Orange County National Golf Center and Lodge in Winter Garden, Fla., with UCF Men's Golf alums Zhengkai (Bobby) Bai and Connor Arendell finishing out the four-round tournament by finishing tied for 41st and 69th overall, respectively, out of 154 total participants.
Bai was one of 25 PGA Tour Series-China alums in the field over the weekend. His four rounds consisted of 69-67-69-70 finishes for a 271(-11) total. Finishing outside of the top 40, he receives conditional status on the 2020 Korn Ferry Tour. Earlier in the year, Bai finished first on the Challenge Tour. With the win, Bai became the first Chinese player to win the Foshan Open and the first to win on the Challenge tour. En route to the first-place finish, Bai set a new course record in the second round when he posted a bogey-free 63(-9).
Arendell, who qualified to the final stage of the Korn Ferry qualifying school back in November after shooting 283(-5) in the second stage at the Robert Trent Jones Golf Trail Dothan, Alabama, shot 70-65-71-72 in four rounds at the final stage to finish with a 278(-8) total. By successfully advancing through Second Stage of Q-School, Arendell already obtained Korn Ferry Tour membership for the following season.
Here is what was at stake during the final stage:
• The medalist (and ties) received fully exempt status on the 2020 Korn Ferry Tour.
• Finishers 2-10 (and ties) were guaranteed entry into the first 12 events of the 2020 Korn Ferry Tour Regular Season.
