ORLANDO (UCFKnights.com) – The UCF women's basketball team opens a three-game road stretch on Saturday at Belmont.
 
The Knights (1-0) and the Bruins (1-0) tip at 8 p.m. ET at the Curb Event Center and the game will stream on ESPN+.
 
Knight Notes
UCF poured in 44 points in the second half to earn a 74-58 win over Pitt on Nov. 6. Four Knights scored in double figures, led by Kay Kay Wright's 16 points.
 
Brittney Smith had a career-day, tallying her first career double-double on career marks of 12 points and 11 rebounds. Masseny Kaba added 14 points and nine rebounds. Diamond Battles dished out a career-best nine assists, accounting for more than half of UCF's 17 dimes in the game.  Sianni Martin hit a career-best five three-pointers on six attempts. Her .833 three-point field goal percentage is the second-best in a single game by a Knight.

Preseason Praise
The Knights begin their season in the receiving votes category of the USA Today/WBCA Preseason Top 25 for the second straight year. UCF received votes in one or both national polls every week last season, and entered the postseason ranked 15 in the RPI.
 
Kay Kay Wright has also collected preseason praise. After a breakthrough junior campaign, she has been named to watch lists for the 2020 Nancy Lieberman Award and the Women's Citizen Naismith Trophy Award. The Orlando native was tabbed as the Co-Preseason Player of the Year in the American Athletic Conference and was a preseason first team selection.
 
Scouting the Bruins
Belmont opened its season with a 63-50 victory over Chattanooga on Nov. 6. Ellie Harmeyer led the Bruins with 22 points and 20 rebounds. Conley Chinn added 12 points and four assists.
 
The Knights lead the all-time series 5-3, but the Bruins hold the most recent victory - 63-49 win in Nashville on March 2, 2005. The teams competed against each other as members of the ASUN from 2001-05.
 
Next up, UCF heads to FGCU on Nov. 13 for a 7 p.m. contest.
