ORLANDO, Fla. (UCFKnights.com) – The UCF men's soccer team checks in at No. 8 in this week's United Soccer Coaches Poll.
The ranking comes after UCF's 14-2-2 regular season and conference tournament run. The Knights entered the conference tournament ranked fifth in the coaches poll and drop for the first time since Oct. 14 when they dropped from No. 9 to No. 11.
The Knights have been ranked in the top 10 of the coaches poll for five straight weeks and in six of the last seven. The Knights have been ranked for over a year, dating back to when they broke into the poll on Oct. 9, 2018.
UCF slides to No. 5 in the NCAA men's soccer RPI after the loss to SMU, who now sits at No. 3. The Black and Gold have been in the top five of the RPI since the rankings debuted six weeks ago.
TopDrawer Soccer's poll has the Knights pegged at No. 8 in the nation as well, marking the first time that the coaches poll and TopDrawer have been in sync all season. UCF has been in the top 10 in TopDrawer's poll for eight straight weeks.
UP NEXT
The Black and Gold earned the No. 9 seed national seed in the NCAA Tournament and will host the winner of Missouri State and Denver on Sunday at 6 p.m. at the UCF Soccer Complex.
