UCF Heads to NCAA South Regional

ORLANDO (UCFKnights.com) – The UCF cross country team is headed to the 2019 NCAA South Region Final, hosted by Florida State, on Friday.
 
The Knights are back in Tallahassee for the second time in 2019, this time for an 8:30 a.m. 6K race at Apalachee Regional Park. The regional race will stream on Flotrack at 8:28 a.m. Live results are available through Primetime Timing.
 
Five Knights will represent UCF at the South Region Final, with four making their regional debuts. Katilyn Soltis is the lone member of the Black and Gold with regional experience, and was more than 45 seconds faster than her previous-best 6K mark, crossing the line in 24:51.3 at the 2018 regional final.
 
UCF's top two competitors this season, Charlotte Crook and Jamie Tomassetti, make their regional debut on Friday morning. Between the two, they have been UCF's top finishers in four meets this season. Both posted career 6K bests at the American Athletic Conference Championship on Nov. 1.
 
Vanessa Bolen and Jewel Walters will also make their regional debuts in Tallahassee. Both posted personal best 6K marks at The American Championship, while Bolen posted a 5K personal best at the FSU Invitational at Apalachee Regional Park on Oct. 11.
