ORLANDO, Fla. (UCFKnights.com) – At the conclusion of their 2019 fall season, the UCF men's tennis team has one doubles tandem and three singles players ranked in the Oracle ITA rankings.

After a wildly successful tournament season that saw them go 7-3, Gabriel Decamps and Juan Pablo Grassi Mazzuchi have been tabbed as the No. 6 doubles tandem in the nation. The duo made their mark in the All-American Championships, winning seven matches on their way from the qualifying draw all the way to the main draw championship where they finished as runners up. Five of their wins came against top 50 ranked opponents. In the semifinals of that tournament, Decamps and Grassi Mazzuchi defeated the currently top ranked duo of Kellovsky and Vocel of Oklahoma State in straight sets. Since the Knight tandem began playing together in the spring, they have compiled a record of 19-9.

Decamps put together a 12-4 run in his tournament season, toppling seven ranked opponents in the process. He climbs seven spots in the singles rankings to No. 22 in the nation. Decamps picked up two wins to start his fall season at the Oracle ITA Masters, one of college tennis' toughest tournaments to play in. His tournament season was capped by a consolation championship run at the ITA National Fall Championships. UCF's top singles player looks to continue his momentum from the fall into the dual match season.

Grassi Mazzuchi checks in at No. 29 in the singles rankings after a 9-5 tournament season, picking up three ranked victories along the way. He turned in a marvelous performance at the ITA Southeast Regional Championships where he finished as the runner-up to a Florida player on their home court. Grassi Mazzuchi jumps from his original fall ranking of No. 82 into being one of the nation's top 30 singles players.

Bogdan Pavel rounds out the ranked Knights as he sits at No. 108 in the singles rankings. He earned a 7-6 record over the tournament season, beating three ranked opponents. This is the first time Pavel has cracked into the singles rankings in his career. He reached the semifinals of the Bedford Cup before falling in a tight three-set contest.
